Johannesburg – The Imperial Lions continue their preparations ahead of the new season with a Four-Day internal match at Senwes park, Potchefstroom which began this Monday.

The Imperial Lions divided into two teams; Team Red and Team Blue which both comprised of players from the franchise side and Two promising North West Cricket Players in the red and blue teams respectively.

Team Red won the toss and elected to bat first with Dominic Hendricks 128 (248) and Rassie van der Dussen 100 (138) scoring centuries to help the team to a first innings total of 400/7.

Delano Potgieter was the pick of Team Blue’s bowlers with figures of 2- 71 – 19,4 overs (Econ. 3.6), Melusi Siboto and Beuran Hendricks claimed economies of 3.3 and 3.5 respectively after bowling 4 and 5 maiden overs each.

In response Ryan Rickelton was unstoppable as he scored 115 (165) before retiring out while Temba Bavuma (45) and Wiaan Mulder (44) helped Blue Team to a total of 311/7 at the end of play in Day Two.

Bjorn Fortuin was once again impressive on the Senwes Park wicket claiming figures of 3 – 56 – 18 while Dwaine Pretorius (econ 3.0) was the most economical bowler of the side.
