Lions Cricket is set to host its Annual Lions Awards ceremony on Thursday the 27th of August 2020. The awards will be hosted virtually on the LionsCricketSA YouTube channel from 19h30 under the theme #CelebratingTheBest.
“Despite the challenging times, the Imperial Lions achieved so much this past season, and we believe in celebrating success. Our players, coaches and staff have worked tirelessly on the field and off it; pre and during Covid19. They have served both the franchise and the game of cricket with great pride and now it is our time to thank them – albeit virtually.
“Some of Lions Cricket 2019/20 achievements include the following:
- Being voted the 2019/2020 Gauteng Sport Team of the Year.
- Retained the CSA 4-Day Series Championship.
- Runners up to the Momentum One Day Cup.
- Imperial Lions Head Coach Wandile Gwavu won the CSA Coach of the Year award and
Eight of the Imperial Lions players were selected for various Proteas games” said Jono Leaf-Wright Lions Cricket CEOs.

Winning SMS stands a chance to win a framed signed Imperial Lions jersey and two season tickets. Competition closes at midnight on Wednesday 26 August 2020.
