Koketso Nthimbane is an assistant lecturer in the Department of Childhood Education at the University of Johannesburg. He has submitted his Master’s degree in the National Research Foundation funded South African Research Chair for the integrated studies of learning language, mathematics and science for the primary school. Mr Nthimbane is an ambitious and goal driven individual with a passion for early education and grassroots development.


In his capacity as assistant lecturer, he is the committee chairperson and coordinator of the mini cricket and rugby clinic Service-Learning project for 1st year University students and the Funda Ujabule Primary School community.  This project is premised on developing, capacitating young learners, University students and practising foundation phase teachers in Soweto, with basic English literacy, mathematics, cricket and rugby skills.


He is a former cricket player, captain and executive member of the UJ Soweto Campus Cricket Club playing at SU1 and Presidents B level between 2013 to 2018. He is currently the Secretary General of the now UJ Cricket Club since 2019 and serves as a playing executive and senior player for the SU1 team. He has also served on the College Council (senate) of Ekurhuleni West College in 2012, the UJ Education Faculty board and the member’s council of the GCB/CGL
